Creamy Cucumber Salad w/Sour Cream
Only a few ingredients are needed to make this cucumber salad
1. About 4-6 English cucumbers. The skin of English cucumbers has a moderate flavor and does not need to be peeled. Regular cucumbers have a milder flavor and a brighter green color. If standard is all you can find, peel them.
2. One shallot: Because they have a gentler flavor than red onions, they are the ideal delicate onion for this salad.
3. Sour Cream. A quick sauce can be made with 1/2 cup sour cream.
4. Fresh Garlic: This adds a lot of flavor to the sauce.
5. Dill. Dried dill adds another element of flavor to this salad.
Step 1: Prepare the sauce and chill it.
This cucumber salad's sour cream sauce needs to chill for a few hours so the flavors can combine. Mix the sour cream with the seasonings (shallot, vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper), and refrigerate while you drain the cucumbers.
Step 2: Season the cucumbers with salt and drain them.
Cucumbers are primarily made up of water. It's crucial to drain some of the moisture from the cucumber before adding it to the creamy sour cream in this creamy cucumber salad. You'll do this by slicing the cucumber into paper-thin slices. Then, in a colander, combine all of the ingredients and season generously with salt. This removes the moisture from the vegetables! It will drain from the strainer, and you may use the slices after patting them dry with a towel.
Step 3: Combine all ingredients and enjoy!
And that's all there is to it! Simply combine the ingredients to make a delicious & refreshing cucumber salad.
